To establish a USGA-recognized handicap, a golfer must comply with the USGA regulations regarding what scores are to be posted and whether the score is posted as a tournament round. As a Free State Seniors member, such compliance is not only expected, but is also the right thing to do. Because Free State Seniors events recognize both gross and net winners within each flight, this reminder to post all scores (not just Free State events) helps to maintain a fair and equal competition within each of our events. All Free State events are considered tournaments and your scores in our events should be entered as tournament scores. To help avoid confusion at each Free State event, players will receive the slope and rating for the sets of tees played. You are responsible for promptly posting your score as a tournament round using the course rating and slope for the tees that you played. The Free State Golf Committee, as part of their duties, checks whether event winners from each flight have posted their appropriate tournament score. Free State flight winners who do not post their scores will not be eligible for the Player of the Year recognition. Repeated offenders may be dealt with more harshly. This Committee and the entire Free State Board of Directors are committed to maintaining an equitable competitive field for each of our events. We trust you will help us achieve this goal. |
